Korean retailers like Ktown4u, Weverse Shop, and Musinsa rarely show a shipping cost until checkout, and that number can double the price of a small order. This shipping cost calculator uses Korea Post’s own published K-Packet and EMS rates, so you know roughly what you’re paying before anything hits your cart. It’s especially handy on your first import, and if you’re not yet sure what a genuine item looks like, read our guide on how to tell if your lightstick is official before you order, since counterfeit sellers shipping from outside Korea won’t match any of the rates below.

K-Packet or EMS? What the two options mean

K-Packet Economy

Korea Post’s budget airmail service for small parcels up to 2 kg, built for online orders. It’s the cheapest tracked way to get merch out of Korea, but it’s slow: count on 1 to 3 weeks, and Korea Post only offers it to 19 countries.

EMS Express Mail Service

The express service that post offices around the world run together. Your parcel arrives in about 3 to 7 days, tracked and insured, and it can be much heavier. It costs more, and Korea Post ships it to about 100 countries.

Korea Post charges the higher of the real weight and the box’s volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 6,000). Example: a 30 × 20 × 15 cm box is billed as at least 1.5 kg, even if it only weighs 600 g.

Rates are Korea Post’s official postage, checked on October 9, 2026: the EMS non-document rates in force since July 1, 2026 (the air transport surcharge is now built in), and the K-Packet rate table plus Korea Post’s per-100 g air transport surcharge for each country (in force since December 11, 2025). The US dollar figure uses today’s exchange rate and is for reference only. This is base Korea Post postage: shops like Ktown4u, Weverse Shop, Musinsa, YES24 and Aladin often add their own packing or handling fee, or ship with another courier, so treat the result as a starting estimate rather than a quote. K-Packet serves 19 countries and stops at 2 kg; EMS serves about 100 countries, and this calculator covers it up to 10 kg. For anything heavier, use Korea Post’s own rate calculator.

K-Packet vs. EMS: Which Should You Pick?

K-Packet vs EMS compared side by side in the Korea shipping calculator, economy versus express shipping from Korea
K-Packet (economy) and EMS (express), the two methods this calculator compares

The calculator above gives you two Korea Post methods to compare. K-Packet is the economy option: tracked but slower, usually 1 to 3 weeks, and capped at 2kg, which covers almost any single lightstick or album order. EMS is the express option: tracked and insured, arriving in 3 to 7 business days, and it takes much heavier parcels (this calculator covers it up to 10kg). If you’re combining a lightstick with albums and photocards for a comeback pre-order, run the numbers through this Korea shipping calculator both ways: K-Packet is almost always cheaper, but EMS is worth the extra cost when a delay would mean missing a concert date. New to lightsticks in general and wondering if you even need one? Our explainer on what a K-pop lightstick actually is covers the basics before you start comparing shipping costs.

One more thing worth knowing: individual shops often add their own packaging or handling fee on top of Korea Post’s base rate, and a bulky box can cost more than its weight suggests, because Korea Post charges the higher of the real and the volumetric weight. Treat every result here as a close estimate rather than a final invoice total. Bookmark this Korea shipping calculator and re-run it each time you order, since Korea Post updates its rates periodically and the weight bracket shifts as your cart grows.
